Vidur and Victoria met for the first time during their freshman year of college. They were in the same service organization and “Vidur Marwaha” and “Victoria McCartney” were on a long list of names they had to memorize. They spent more time together sophomore year. Not hanging out often, but running into each other in ridiculous ways. Like the time Victoria and her roommate went shopping before a fraternity formal and saw Vidur and his roommate trying on Hawaiian shirts in the mirror aisle.

They talked sporadically after that, but it wasn't until junior year they became friends. Victoria’s roommate decided she wanted to start a running club. That quickly turned into just Vidur and Victoria since her roommate sprained her ankle and wasn’t able to run. Victoria and Vidur grew to have feelings for each other while spending time running and chatting. Victoria only continued running because that was the time they spent together. Vidur pretended that he ran at the same pace as Victoria so they could talk while they jogged. Running together turned into studying together and partying together.

Both were tentative to talk about their feelings, and tiptoed around that conversation for a while. Since both were too nervous to talk about how they felt, Victoria had no idea how to answer friends when they asked if she and Vidur were dating. Vidur told Victoria he liked her, but was worried he wouldn’t be able to spend too much time together because of his coursework and studying. Somehow Vidur thought they were dating three months before Victoria did because of that conversation. Their communication has come a long way since those days. It’s been 11 years and their love has only grown. They are excited to finally get married and celebrate with the people who mean the most to them.
